The Sum of All Things – (not currently available)

Image of one dancer balancing on the back of another dancer.
The Sum of All Things inspires wonder and curiosity about the ever repeating cycles in nature and explores how humans can intervene in both helpful and harmful ways. This lively and engaging duet incorporates South Asian dances, music, and stories with Next Generation Science Standards.  Encouraging care for the environment and all the earth’s creatures, The Sum of All Things models overcoming fears and expressing empathy.

Audiences will delight in Bhangra, a North Indian/Pakistani farm dance that celebrates the harvest, while exploring the life cycle of plants and what all living things need to grow. An interactive classical Indian hand dance will engage students with the cycle of a butterfly’s life, and a beautiful Sufi story will uplift the spirits as a river experiences the cycle of water on a search for her destiny.
